Life's a Beach...

Finally our very own east coast family beach vacation.  When we moved out east everybody talked about their beach vacations.  I didn't understand, but now I am enlighten because some "most wonderful" friends opened their family home to us. So we marked it on our calendar to have a beach vacation in the Outer Banks, near Corolla.  Thank you Russel's.  Your kindness and thoughtfulness are immense.

Jon and Gordon walking the lake behind the house with the kids.

Chapin and Ray eating lunch...Checking out the surf.
Turi surfing...
Jon anticipating surf...
We saw dolphins...Yippee, really a highlight!
The boys...
The fam...
It was hot, so much time was spent under the lovely shade umbrellas...
Buddies....
JiJi and Carmen
We explored a bit while we were visiting the Outer Banks.  Including, checking the Currituck Beach Lighthouse dated 1875.   Chapin enjoyed climbing the stairs so much he wanted to do it twice.  The views were nice reminding us of our climb to a lighthouse in Bermuda.

Top of the lighthouse...
Enjoyable lighthouse stairs...
We traveled down the island to visit a place Jon had visited before called Jockey Ridge State Park.  This park is one big sand dune.  In 1990 Jon and Dave Hawley check out the park for their hang gliding school.
On your mark...Get set...GO!
Running...I mean falling down the dune...All laughs, by the way!
Check out those hang gliders..."they are the same kites we used in 1990!"
