The Chicken Dance...

So Chapin attends a little community center preschool 3 mornings a week. It is a nice little place and his teacher Ms. Lynn is very kind. This past Friday Ms Lynn said that they did the Chicken Dance. She expanded and said that Chapin "really enjoyed" this dance and took to it very nicely. I wonder why? The boys do love the chickens! Dadadadadadadaaaaa dadadadadadadaaaaa...

Couloir - A mountain passage or gully - in alpine parlance, a gully of snow defined by rock outcroppings on both sides. Well, here in Clarke County, VA we define our Couloir's a little differently!

Jon and Chapin enjoying a day of skiing right in our backyard. What fun they had and Chapin mantra as he is skiing downhill "I am in the Olympics, I am in the Olympics!" Maybe some day little man...Just maybe.

Still enjoying the winter of 2010! Hope you are too!

A New Level...

This weekend has been rather exciting for Jon, Chapin and myself. We skied yesterday at Bryce Mountain Resort our local mountain of choice. It is about 1 1/2 hours away and is great for the kiddos. This is Chapin's 3rd season on skis and this weekend he decided that he didn't need a ski harness for any help. Well he probably didn't need it for a bit, but we make the choice not to push this skiing thing on him. It was all his choice and this weekend he stepped up his skiing to a new level. We are awfully proud of him and so happy he is enjoying himself.

Welcome! So this should be interesting. I will give my best to share what is happening in our little world here, definitely share pictures and offer perspective from our eyes. I feel like our family has been on a big long journey of cultivating ourselves and our world...Entrenched in adventurous and daily life we all thrive and learn. So now I start the journey of sharing this. Mostly for my Mom...I love you!

Pictures from adventure of Cross County skiing on Kent Farm after all our big snow storms. It has been lovely and peaceful. Reminding me of childhood and our years in Colorado. We do wish we had snow like this all winter to play in here in Virginia.
